Client work for Cafe Nyleta. Design a responsive desktop/ mobile webpage

Cafe Nyleta

Cafe Nyleta is shedding its retail skin and embracing its design consultancy core. Cafe Nyleta asked me to design a responsive website to captivate businesses and designers seeking pro-level products, boosting their client base and brand image.

The website is currently live!

Cafe Nyleta was formerly known for producing high-quality garments. They are now a design consultancy specializing in B2B apparel design and product development.

Branding Guidelines

Cafe Nyleta's brand centers on quality, meticulousness, and cherishing life's little pleasures. Their brand guide prioritizes a clean design and showcases their clients' work.

Cafe Nyleta aimed for a professional appearance that remained true to its unique design sensibilities. Taking cues from typography-driven layouts, generous white space, and fashion editorial-style grids.

The Client’s Vision

After interviewing the client, I identified three main objectives: attracting new design clients, documenting Cafe Nyleta's services on the website, and showcasing their previous work. I prioritized these objectives to create a website that highlights their strengths and informs potential clients.

“Our focus may have shifted, but our dedication to high-quality design and sourcing remains the same."

Jack Mahaley, Lead Designer

Iterating Design Systems

I wanted to keep the aesthetic and functionality simple and timeless. After several rounds or iterations, the client learned towards a simple and minimal aesthetic. We iterated on several concepts to create a digital design system that complemented the client's existing design language.

Mobile menu options the explored ways of creating a minimal activated state

The client was very particular about the small visuals, such as showing product names and prices, that did not detract from the high-quality product images.

I wanted to explore ways of following recognizable design patterns for online shopping while maintaining a clean and minimal aesthetic.

Information Architecture

The aim is to prioritize three essential pillars of Cafe Nyleta's business: clearly defining its identity as a business, identifying the services it offers, and optimizing the shop page.

The site is built to focus on the four main pillars of the business.

  1. Landing page: educated potential customers about Cafe Nyelta’s services

  2. About: humanize design by showing Cafe Nyleta’s unique approach

  3. Shop: showcase prior work

  4. Contact: connect and work with new clients

I worked closely with Cafe Nyleta to prioritize Cafe Nyleta’s business goals and to retain the brand’s strong identity.

It was important to Cafe Nyleta that the details and quality of their goods translated between different device sizes.

CTA Placement

I strategically placed CTA buttons throughout Cafe Nyleta's website to increase the likelihood of potential clients reaching out. The buttons are attention-grabbing but not overly aggressive.

CTA buttons are placed strategically next to crucial information that reveals a service or opportunity to collaborate. In order to drive revenue, Cafe Nyleta’s goal is to create sales opportunities with increasing customer interactions.

The clients main focus is to help guide customers to get a quote

Throughout every crucial section of the website, an opportunity for collaboration is offered for customers to reach out to Cafe Nyleta.

Learning & Takeaways

Figma components

Scaling and recreating product pages on a responsive website requires the proper setup of components and sets. This ensures easy adaptation and expansion without sacrificing performance or user experience.

Webpage vs. app design

As an experienced app designer, designing a webpage was a new challenge for me. Adjusting my design techniques and proportions for an effective and visually appealing website proved to be a valuable exercise.

Less is more

Meeting the client's request for a minimal and aesthetically pleasing design while maintaining a balance between text, imagery, and information proved challenging. Achieving a cohesive and impactful user experience required careful consideration of every element of the website.
